A Mixed Bag: Download Dragon Age 2 Metacritic Review

As a fan of the original Dragon Age: Origins (DA:O), I went into Dragon Age 2 with high expectations. However, my experience was a mixed bag, with both positive and negative aspects.

One thing that bothered me was the new dialogue wheel system. In DA:O, I loved being able to choose my responses based on how I felt about the situation, often thinking about what I would say before clicking on an option. With the new wheel, I found myself not bothering to read all the options, as they seemed too formulaic and lacking in depth. It was like playing a different game altogether.

On the other hand, some of the new additions were nice. The Qunari look great, even if there are no female examples in the game. Similarly, the spells and skills have improved significantly, with nice animations and effects. I particularly enjoyed casting rock armor for the first time, as it looked much better than its DA:O counterpart.

Combat has also become more enjoyable, with smoother animations and a more responsive feel. My rogue was able to take down enemies in style, which was fun to watch.

Unfortunately, not everything about Dragon Age 2 met my expectations. The lack of female Qunari and dwarves was noticeable, and the game didn't quite live up to what I had hoped for.
